Public Speaking Could Not Be Easier With These Tips

Make sure that the beginning of your speech is a moment to relax. Greet and address your audience. Then pause for three seconds. This gives them a chance to focus on you, while you get a moment to transform your nervous energy into enthusiasm for the material you are about to deliver.

You will win your audience over if you add a little humor to your speech. There is nothing wrong with trowing in a joke or two and putting a smile on your audience’s faces. However, do not go overboard on the jokes, as your audience will not take you serious.

Visit your hairdresser on the day of your speech. Nothing gives you more confidence than looking and feeling great. Purchase a new suit which makes you feel good to bolster your confidence levels. Audience members will take note of you when you are dressed for success and exude a sense of confidence.

Always be yourself when you are giving a speech and you will have better luck with the audience. Sincerity is a quality that many people respect and admire. If it is clear to the audience that you are not putting on a show when you are speaking to them, they will receive your message better.

Many people start a speech with a joke in order to grab the audience’s attention, so keep this in mind as you are figuring out what to say. If you are going to tell a joke, make sure that it is tasteful and on topic. Otherwise, you risk alienated some of them.

Practice meditation to prepare for your speech. Imagine yourself doing well, feeling comfortable, speaking clearly and enjoying yourself. Imagine that your audience is interested and appreciates what you are saying. When you take the time to imagine a good experience, you greatly increase your chances of actually having a good experience.

Try to find humor in the situation if things do not go as planned. There are many variables when you speak in public, which means that there are many opportunities for things to go wrong. The microphone or projector may not work, there may be an interruption in power or someone may enter the room in the midst of your speech. Try to take things in stride. Taking things too seriously can result in you having a meltdown, so try to laugh off any issues that may arise.

Be familiar with the environment in which you are speaking. Arrive early so that you can look over the room and set up and check any equipment you are using. Practice using any audio-visual aids so that you know how they work and you know they are in working order. This helps you avoid an embarrassing issues with equipment and provides you with more self confidence.

Videotape a couple of practice sessions of your public speaking engagements. When you can see yourself in action this way, you can easily see what you can improve upon. It may be the way you move your hands or the expression on your face. Seeing this on film gives you a more objective perspective.

Practice as often as you can before it is time to speak to the crowd. Practice in front of a mirror and make changes if anything sounds awkward. Then, use people in your life as test subjects and ask them for a critique. Practicing your speech helps you perfect the words and the delivery.

Make sure that you have a strong start to your speech since this is the best way to engage the audience. You should try relating a relevant, personal story or telling an anecdote. This is a great way to warm up the crowd and get the ready to hear the main message.

Think about the purpose of your speech. Do you need to persuade someone? Are you speaking to entertain? Maybe you are speaking to educate your audience. Always keep your purpose in mind to make a great speech. Make sure that every statement in your speech is working toward that goal.

Choose an audience of friends and family to help you practice. they can give valuable feedback about pints where you need to improve and words that confused them, they can also help you discover your greatest strengths and give you ways to make the most of them. They can also offer new ideas too.

To become a more skilled public speaker, you must omit certain words and phrases from your vocabulary. Starting a sentence with the word “actually” conveys surprise or submissiveness. Never use the phrase “I just think” in your speeches. This expression communicates weak authority, and audience members will perceive that you lack conviction.

If you are using cue cards, only write down simple sound bites that will help you keep on track. Don’t write down your entire speech. If you do, you may end up simply reading your speech off of those cards. That makes for a very boring event to say the least.

Kegiatan Public Relation dan  Citra Organisasi

Image atau Citra yang positif bagi suatu organisasi merupakan modal dasar yang sangat menentukan perkembangan organisasi kearah tujuan yang telah dirumuskan oleh para pendiri organisasi tersebut. Baik organisasi yang kecil apalagi organisasi yang besar dan raksasa. Baik organisasi yang dikelola dengan management yang masih sederhana yang penuh dengan rasa kekeluargaan maupun organisasi yang sudah menerapkan pola dan metode management modern dan professional. Image atau citra ini merupakan gambaran dari sosok organisasi kepada khalayaknya. Penilaian positif atau negatif terhadap image atau citra dari suatu organisasi, tidak dapat dipaksakan oleh pengelola organisasi tersebut terhadap siapapun. Penilaian ini akan muncul sebagai respon dari refleksi kinerja yang dipancarkan oleh organisasi tersebut dalam melayani costumer atau konsumennya. Hal ini juga bukan terjadi secara begitu saja, tetapi pancaran yang muncul dari organisasi tersebut merupakan hasil dari suatu komunikasi yang dilakukan secara terencana, metodologis, dan didahului oleh ‘fact finding’ yang akurat melalui kegiatan Public Relation yang terjemahan dalam bahasa Indonesia, walaupun secara teoritis tidak begitu tepat, adalah Humas atau Hubungan Masyarakat. Puasa dan “Self-leadership”

Ahlan Wa Sahlan Ya Ramadhan. Selamat datang bulan Ramadhan. Ramadhan kembali datang dan bagi umat Islam yang beriman dan telah memenuhi syarat-syarat yang ditetapkan, wajib melakukan puasa. Sekilas, kedatangan Ramadhan mungkin merupakan sesuatu yang rutin setiap tahunnya. Sama seperti datangnya bulan-bulan yang lain. Masing-masing kelompok masyarakat, sesuai dengan umur, tingkat pendidikan, status, maupun profesinya, mungkin mempunyai kegiatan rutin, atau bahkan ritual yang rutin pada saat Ramadhan tiba. Rutinitas itu kembali berjalan, dan dari tahun ke tahun, serta akan diakhiri oleh kemeriahan Hari Raya Idul Fitri. Begitulah yang dialami oleh sebahagian umat yang berpuasa. Banyak hikmah yang tidak terungkap dan tidak dapat dirasakan dan banyak juga yang menjalani ibadah puasa dalam keterpaksaan sehingga perginya Ramadhan yang justru disambut dengan sukacita dengan dalih merayakan Idul Fitri.
